1/29/08 Rosters have been announced. Both JV and Varsity have started practice. Coach Zeph Zinsman is excited and looking forward to the coming season.   Los Gatos will scrimmage both Mitty and Harker the last week of February as a warm up to the first match on March 5th, when the Cats host Santa Clara. Go Cats!!

2007 NEWS

3/11/07:   The boys volleyball season got off to its season with wins by both the JV and Varsity teams on March 6^th. The cats faced the brand new boys program from visiting Monta Vista High on Tuesday, with the JV team earning its first win of the season with scores of 27-25, 25-19, 15-10.  The JV team has a record of       1-0. The varsity team only took three games to down Monta Vista with scores of 25-23, 25-20 & 25-22.                                                                                    On Thursday night the varsity team traveled to Santa Clara High, to take another league win with scores of  26-24, 25-19 & 25-15. Santa Clara does not have a jv team.                                                                                                               On Saturday the Varsity team played in their first tournament of the season. The cats played in the first tournament hosted by Homestead. In Round Robin play, the varsity team beat Willow Glen 23-25, 25-13, 15-13, then had a tough day losing the next four matches to St Francis 21-25, 18-25, Leland 22-25, 25-16, Bellarmine 11-25, 19-25, and  Homestead 15-25, 22-25. Every team in the tournament figures to be in the CCS tournament at the end of the season. The varsity  has a record of 2-0 in league and 3-4 overall.

February 20:  Next week starts the playing season off for both the JV and Varsity teams with scrimmages against St Francis (varsity only) on Tuesday and Westmont (both jv & varsity) on Thursday with the annual fundraiser at Campo Di Bocce between on Wednesday the 28th. The first official match of the season is on Tuesday March 6th when Monte Vista visits Los Gatos for the first time.

February 2007:  The Varsity and JV teams for the 2007 season have been announced. Varsity is comprised of  Seniors Martin Eggers & Jake Haueter, Juniors Stephen Hight, Ryan Magnin, Kevin Rutledge & Taylor Stephens and Sophomores Beau Barron, Justin Lewis, Kyle MacLean, Trevor Rowell, Storm Slivkoff and Jeff Butler.  On the JV team are Sophomores Drew Grainger, Kevin Lord, Derek Nilsen, Kyle Scoby, Tony Scott & Matt Walleen, with Freshman Sean Fitzsimmons, Duncan Gartin, Tyler Lange, Andrew Miller, Derek Powers, John Shamshonian & Sam Whiteley rounding out the squad.

December 2006: Los Gatos announced the hiring of Zeph Zinsman as new Head Coach of the boys program at Los Gatos. The 2007 schedule has been posted, look for updates and added tournaments. The annual Fundraiser is set for February 28th at Campo Di Bocce.
